Styling

The changes may look minimal, but I changed a lot for the website these past days.

First I picked a new Joomla template for the site. With the old template it was just to hard to change it to my liking. And it wasn't SEO optimized either. I choose the Bolt template from Alledia, which is simple, fast and SEO optimized. Modifying it look similar to the old website proved to be fairly easy. If you are familiar with css, joomla templates and know what you want, it can be done in a few hours.

If you are looking for a good and easy to use Joomla template, I can highly recommend this Bolt template. It is well worth the money. If you like the advantages of the template but don't want to change it to your likings yourself. Feel free to contact me, to discuss what service I can offer.

After change the template I also decided that the site url's should also be search engine friendly. So I also enabled the sh404sef component for Joomla. This component is now (finally) compatible with the latest version Joomfish. All this worked fine for the articles on the site, but the download component still showed the ugly url's. Spending an afternoon writing a sh404sef plugin for jotloader also solved that problem.

Now only wait a little while and see how it does in the google rankings.

We are also going to use this template for an informative website on vitamine called vitaminewijzer.

Upsize for Alamy

I receive a lot of question lately on upsizing for Alamy from Adobe Lightroom.

It is not that difficult, you need at least a 6 MP camera. I have a 6 MP Nikon D70s and I never had any problem with it.
