I just came across this photo I took back in 2006 in Cape Verde. Every time I see this one it makes me grin.

Working hard the African way. After a day fishing at sea, it needs just one man to clean the fish.

Free keyword lists for Lightroom |

Having trouble building your keyword vocabulary for Lightroom? I have found an option for you. I just came accross the site of Nick Potter an England based landscape and architecture photographer. He made a several of his structured keyword lists available for a free. He has made 6 lists avaialble so far: - Geography – a list of all countries broken down by continent
- Animals – I’m sure this won’t be complete but includes over 350 animals
- Colours – Red or Crimson? A list of 42 of the more common colours
- Natural Landforms – Beaches, canyons, forest and glaciers
- Bodies of Water – Over 30 terms for that wet stuff
- Buildings – Nearly 180 words for man-made structure

I was just reviewing some photos from the week I spent in Austria. In particular looking at the composition of the photos. I am happy with this cross I have taken on the hoch alpentrasse in Austria.

Of course it follows the basic rule of thirds, where you place the subject on one of the thirds of the frame. But for this photo the low viewpoint is far more important. It makes the cross stand out against the sky, making it the clear subject of the photo. There is enough of surroundings included to provide a context.
